This is a .360" diameter .357 caliber bullet design by Glenn Larson. I have an older Lee GB mold for this bullet, and it is a very nice bullet. This BRASS mold design utilizes Cramer style hollow point option.

In the discussion thread, there was interest for both 2 and 4 cavity molds. Mihec tells me that it is a real challenge to run 2 and 4 cavities at the same time, so I suggested we list both in the active area and run each as we reach the 15 minimum.

I will edit the thread as needed in order to clarify things. Let me know if you are unclear on anything, and I will do my best to get your question answered.

I will have 2 lists in this thread; one for 2 cavity and one for 4 cavity. Be sure and specify 2 or 4 cavity. Also, specify GC or PB.

This is the pricing I have from Miha now:

HP with pins

- $90 for 2 cavity round hollow point Brass Mold (plus extra pins (penta and small) $16 per set) plus $15 shipping

- $120 for 4 cavity round hollow point Brass Mold (plus extra pins (penta and small) $16 per set) plus $20 shipping

SOLID no pins

Yes, brass mold.

Pins - round is standard. Extra pins include the penta and the small hollow point.

The pins allow you to reverse and create a flat point solid. Hope I said that right.

Regarding the extra weight of a PB vs a GC, I am guessing 5 to 10 grain extra weight.

Next time I am feeling smart, I will run a volume calculation of the ring that would be missing if there is a GC and figure it. For now, this is the best I have.

13 total takers? Kinda surprises me since I know this boolit design to be a really good one for a lot of different cartridges. It shines in the 35 Remington and the 357 Max, while I love it in my 357 Mag Contender. Hope more people realize it's value.

I have been in contact with Glenn Larson. He is working on a drawing showing the PB option. I will post it as soon as I get it.

He says the weight difference between GC and PB is about 2 -3 grains.

Regarding the PB and GC in the same mold, Mihec and I are going back and forth on this. I hope to have this ironed out soon.

Glenn Larson is suppose to send me a sketch of the PB bullet. As soon as I have it, I will post. And this will help in my discussion with Mehec.

As far as the pins, Mihec said he will include the small pins. He said he would include all pins. The way he said it leads me to believe that the extra pin set will include the penta and the small ("I will include all the pins by default"). Again, I am trying to confirm.

Mihec, if your around, chime in.

Just got a reply from Mihec that the GC and PB can be combined in the same mold if the bullet length is the same. It will be. Glenn Larson tells me the weight difference should be 2 to 3 grains. His drawing will be posted as soon as I have it.

No, that kind of pins are not included by default. I can order some more round pins and he can grind them off.

Kind of odd Miha wouldn't offer the flats as he has with most other group buys I've been in. Oh well.

Whistler, 180 gr is a nominal weight for solid. I have one of these solid molds made by Lee, and the weight is a little more than 180 gr. (about 185)

I am not sure about the HP weight difference.

There have been many a group buy on this design. There is good reason for that. Glenn flat outdid himself the day he dreamed this puppy up and put it to paper. Now it is available in a good mould that will cast identical boolits for one short moment in time.


I have killed about 10 deer with the Larsen 180 cast from the lee 6cavity group buy I ran. It is a flat deer killin sumbeach in my 357maximum Encore from Match Grade Machine. This boolit also does real well accuracy/WAP wise from both my 10Inch Contender357 and my Dan Wesson 357mag 6shooter. If you are on the fence about this one and have not acted I would suggest that you do.........or you will kick yourself later. TIC-TOCK

You can't order Milhec molds with both GC and PB in the same mold. NOE will do that but Milhec does not.

For some reason, I had the impression that since there were a lot of molds (44 at last count) of various designs spoken for, that Mihec was going to manufacture all of the variations. I may well be totally wrong, but that was my impression. Perhaps Fire_stik can either verify that or not, which ever. I know I am waiting patiently for this design.

From my understanding, Miha won't be offering blank pins with this mold. Why, I do not know, Miha has offered blanks with every other mold I have ever bought from him him, just not this one.
I already posed this question early on in the buy.

But there is a difference betwixt machining the molds and throwing an assortment of pins into a small bag.
This is a bullet I plan on running at close to 1400 fps so a small cavity will probably give us better terminal ballistics.

Hello Tim,

i am from Germany, that's not so far away from Mihec.
But as usual......superb quality, bullets drop off the pins/out of the cavs by command.
I cast 13HBN, the weight of the FP is about 185grs., the HP small pins are about 174grs with my lead mixture.
2/3 pure lead, 1/3 Linotype.
Now it's two o'clock in the afternoon in Germany and at about six i will go to the range to try them out. I think my 586 will love them.
Loaded them with 7,2grs. VV 3N37.
I wish all of you that the postman will ring soonest at your home and happy casting!!

I boil mine in water with a bit of Dawn dish soap, lube the pivots and alignment pins with synthetic two cycle oil. And if you find the HP pins are sticking, use a #2 pencil to coat the offending pin(s) with graphite. I have found it will take about three heating and cooling cycles for these molds to really start clucking. You will absolutely love them.

Using 50/50 COWW/SOWW lead:

Solids ~ 187 gr
Penta ~ 177 gr
Large HP ~ 176 gr
Small HP ~ 180 gr

No GC
