There's an asking price and a selling price

Get the 4th edition first as it's updated with newer powders and such. Wouldn't hurt to add the 3rd to the library if you're already up to speed.

An excellent book that you will be referring to for many years.

Pricey, though.

The fourth is updated considerably but the third is more interesting reading -

LOTS of history. I like that.

". . . but the third is more interesting reading"

I have had the Third Edition since they came out. Arguably the best cast bullet handbook, by anyone, EVER!

In fact, I have nearly worn mine out. When they announced the 4th Edition, I bought a new 3rd Edition along with pre-ordering the 4th Edition. I am glad that I did. The 3rd Edition is timeless, while the 4th Edition has some new powders useful to me along with some other manufacturers bullets - that's a new wrinkle and very useful.

Get both, you will NOT be sorry.

I have the 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions. ALL of them are valuable. Anything over $20.00 for a new copy seems very steep. Mine was bought in 1979 and still has the $7.99 price tag.

While I don;t have the fourth edition yet, I will someday. But there's no way I'd pass up the older editions.

If you plan on casting boolits, get one. I personally prefer the 3rd Edition (seems a bit more informative to those tha are new to cast and don't shoot black powder cartridge competition), but the 4th does have newer powder and other than lyman boolit load data.

Better check shipping costs on Ebay. That Midway link has them for $15.99 too, but there's shipping.

Bret,
Shipping is 6.00 for priority mail. Midway doesn't seem to have the book in stock (according to the link) and they charge 3.00 minimum fee if the order is less than 25.00 or so (plus shipping). Steve
