Hi guys;
I just picked up a couple of Winchester 1892's in .25-20 that were made in 1913 by the serial number. How is the strength of this old action? I only plan cast boolit loads, something like 3.5 grs Trail Boss under a 85 gr flat point, this load won't strain these old gals will it?

Don,t know about strength, but I have been shooting all kinds of factory loads, when I could find some real cheap, in one made in 1915.

Winchester offered 25-20 WHV (Winchester High Velocity) factory cartridges beginning in 1903 meant for the 92 WInchester. Ballistics were around 1,750 f.p.s. with the 86 gr bullet. Pressure was around 25,000 psi.

If your rifle is in good condition, keeping within those standards would be just fine.

They will probably blow up with even the weakest loads. Send them down here and I will dispose of them properly. Wouldn't want to see anybody get hurt. ;)
