Hi Folks:
It's been a long search, but a 5-1/2" stainless, .357 mag. Redhawk is finally in my hands! :bigsmyl2:
I am thinking what I need now is a 358627, what ye all say??? Would that be a good mold/boolit for the Redhawk? or no?
Anyone else use the 358627 in a Redhawk?
I like a HEAVY boolit, what one would you choose?

Thank you.

The 358156 g/c bullet has always been an all time classic.

Would depend entirely on what you plan on using it for, plinking, paper targets, hunting, defense?

There is a huge number of 35 cal molds available.

or one of these that will fit, granted most are for my rifle.

Lots of luck finding a 358627 mould. (I got the late neerb's mould in a site benefit auction. A moment to remember one of our own, Dave Breen.)

NOE 360180 WFN is an excellent boolit as is their 200 grain SWC...got them both! There is a current group buy on 360180 in four cavity brass; you might also check in vendor sponsor sales for either of these moulds.

358156 is a classic...current NOE group buy as 360160...in on that one too.

Go look at Accurate Moulds or Mountain Moulds for other options.

There are a jillion good moulds out there...and some not so good!

Lyman 358429?

They are close to being too long, but the Ranch dog 190's fit in my 4" GP100.

Go to the top of the page, Ranch Dog Outdoors, a couple you might be interested in, 175 and 190 gr.

358477, 358429, RCBS 38-150-K (now 38-150-SWC) or Lee 358 158 RF are all
excellent, accurate boolit designs.

I think the Redhawk has the cylinder length for it, 358429.

maglvr,

I was thinking you would need (or at least want) a gunbearer to carry it around.:bigsmyl2:

Seriously, I like the 5 1/2" Redhawks, I just wish I would have bought all three calibers when they were first available.

Congrats! I have the 7 1/2 inch model. VERY accurate weapon! I shot the head off a grouse with it once and my hunting partner just stood there with his mouth open. I'm very glad I bought it when they came out. Bought the .44 Mag first...then a year or two later saw the .357 in the case and had to have it!
