Yesterday I decided to see how many shots I could get with my little #4 rolling block rifle 32 H&R mag using the new KIK FFFg and #3118 bullet. Since this bullet doesn't carry much lube I didn't think it would be very many.
Conditions were much better than summer, temp of about 80 deg and 30% humidity. Fired 50 rounds, and never fouled out! They held an approx. 2 inch group at 50 yards, with the crude sights that rifle has. The last few shots I fired at the 200 yard gong, and started hitting that after one sighter. I am quite impressed with this new KIK powder, and really have a ball shooting little black powder cartridges!
One tip though, that Starline brass is really hard. I have to anneal it pretty vigorously to get it to seal the chamber with black powder or I get lots of stuuff blown back in my face. Once annealed it works beautifully!
