Hi Folks:
I was wondering if any of you 358-158-RF users have ever reamed out the base bevel portion? and if so, what weight did it cast with WW's after that?
I don't have one yet but just posted a WTB in the wanted section. I like the large meplat of the boolit, but would like it a bit heavier if possible. I know WFN molds of other brands are available but price is a big factor! And 2 bangers are plenty for my needs.
Thanks in advance!!

I have the 6 cav version, that had the BB removed by the prior owner.

About 163-164 gr, lubed and sized .359

Shoots nicely.

Thanks for the reply!
That is right in the ball park I was hoping for,!
Can't wait to get one now!
There must be a unloved 2-banger out there looking for a good home. :)

For reference: My bevel base boolits, cast of 2:1 wheel weights to lead, weigh in the 162-163 grain range, lubed. Don't expect a plain base mould to produce a substantially heavier boolit. In all probability, casters who modifyied the mould did so because they wanted a plain base, opposed to a heavier boolit.

This bullet readily takes a Gas Check quite well. I make my own out of aluminum so the cost is insignificant. In the 1894C Marlin, it shoots more accurately with a Gas Check.
