I'm working up a 30-30 load using the lee 170grn fprn design, using a wheel weight alloy, water quenched, gas-checked, win LR primers, crimped using lee FCD, OAL 2.535", tumble lubed with the 45/45/10 lube formula.
Right now I'm using 28.5 grn of Varget with very promising accuracy. Is there a way to, well basically, guess a ball park figure for the velocity of this load out of a 20" m94? I'm looking for a hunting load good out to 200yds. I'm considering working up to the max load of varget using a 170gr jacketed bullet load data and seeing what accuracy I get.
