carcano extractor ?

hi , i have a question .
has anybody here ever put an extractor in a carcano bolt ? .
i was hot bluing a bubbered carcano bolt (i didn;t bubber it i promise.) and must have somehow "hit" the bolt in the tank just right and when it came out i was pleased with the blue job but ahhhgggg!!!! the extractor was broken in half, i have a bolt body complete with the said piece but i need to put it in my bubbered bolt .
can anyone give me any pointers---- tips -----tricks as to how to install this little iddy biddy piece of metal?.
