Got a LOAD of casting stuff in an estate sale. Most is ID'd. Most works. (and y'all don't wanna know what I paid)

Parts on the way for some of the others.

Then I came across another resizer/luber. No markings that I can see. There is a tag on it, but lettering has washed out. Don't know it if is complete or, considering the state of rust on parts of it, if it is even worth trying to rehab.

In case my attempt to post a picture does not work (I suspect it won't), there are 4 shots in my Photobucket account. http://s260.photobucket.com/albums/ii30/geniusredneck/

I'm new to casting and need some help. Please.

That is one very rusty Star/Magma lubrisizer, on what looks like a Magma base heater. That's a shame someone let it get into that condition, but you may be able to save it.

Hope this helps.

It is also definitely worth a re-hab effort; I'd be interested in buying it if you decide not to rebuild it. Tony

HUZZAH! Called Magma. The guy who answered the phone KNEW MY DAD! Dad's been dead 27 years now.

He remembered Dad's name, where he lived and "He was quite a character."

Now how freekin' awesome is THAT?

And I have a parts list on the way

Hopefully, the lube helped preserve it inside, and it isn't quite as rusty there. If so, it's definitely worth a rehab, and it should be relatively easy to get 'er back in service.

Find yourself a gallon of "Evaporust".

Estate sales/auctions can be a gold mine for reloaders "sometimes". Was at a sale Monday and picked up 5 Lee factory crimp dies, a Lee decapping die, and a RCBS collet bullet puller die [with two collets] for $1 each. At a different sale last year I bought a Lyman 45 sizer for $2.

You fellas sure are lucky. All I ever find at garage/estate sales is overpriced junque.
