On my Lee Classic Turret Press my Auto Disk eats the edge of my 38 brass. About every 2nd or 3rd shell comes back with a divot gone off of one side. I've taken every thing apart readjusted and cleaned it. Even switched to a RCBS decapper. Profanity doesn't seem to help. Any ideas? Later Don

The most likely culprit is powder granules making the brass tilt. The second most likely is the primers not being seated all the way and making the brass tip. Beyond this something is messed up on the press.

+1 on the brass not be aligned with the die for some reason. What kind of press are you using?

It's possible the indexing is off a bit. If you remove the index rod, try manually indexing just as a test. Make sure the case is all the way in the shell holder too. See if works better. If so than look at the Lee instructions to reset the auto-indexing.

There is a post from a couple of weeks ago that Gear gave a link to that showed how to adj. the nut. It was my post about the turrit in missalignment.

Lee turrets are great for getting out of time. As others have said, that is likely your culprit. Another thing I have found on them is that the auto disk is great for larger powders but if you start using small grainy or flake powder it is highly recommended that you get the upgrade kit ( http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=155227 ) you will thank yourself later. Just my .02 from experience. These are great turret presses for the price they sometimes just need a little help.

Thanks to everyone and to the miracle that allowed me to find my old instruction sheet for setting the index. That was it. It was off just a hair, but it was enough. And I will order the upgrade kit. Later Don

There is a reason they include instruction's.
