I recently purchased an over-run mold from someone's custom mold order. It's a 6 cavity .259 nominal 70 grain tumble lube plain base with a small flat nose.

It was very cheap on Lee's list of clearance stuff, so I got it thinking it might be the ticket for low power/low noise .256 WM loads. I don't own a .256, but that's purely academic at this point...

I was wondering who designed this one (http://leeprecision.com/xcart/6-Cavity-TL-259-70-F.html)? It pretty much looks like a plain base bator in tumble lube guise.

If it was more of a RF nose
I would buy one for the 25/20

But a for some reason it dose nothering for me

Probely work good for Cat Sneeze loads in any CF 25 cal rifle

We did that as a group buy a number of years ago. Leftoverdj honcho'ed it; it may be that 45 2.1 or someone here designed it.

I think, despite the label, that you'll find it casts closer to 80 grains. Mine does.

Just got to thinking
Almost looks like a Ranch Dog design

Wonder if these are a batch of rejects ?

Thanks for the info guys.

It's got just enough flat nose that I suspect it will work okay for small game at about 1K FPS and plinking at similar velocities.

I'm pretty happy with the quality of the mold I got, casts at .259 with WW's but I forgot to weigh them. The mold drop's em easy, for sure. At the price, I couldn't help myself. It's a sickness I tell you.
