Now what, I watch the local recyclers weekly posted buy prices, lead scrap has gone from .10c lb to .40c lb in 1 week!

I can get $0.80 per pound locally and they will not sell even at $1.00. I think they last quoted me $1.20 so you are still in the cheap zone.

My last local recycler buy was 80 cents a pound. I got to dig around on the pallets and cherry pick what I wanted, ended up with some hi tin content babbit ingots, pure lead cable sheathing, and what I think is some solder drippings that were melted into rough ingot in a small cake pan. Dripping ingot will soon be tested.
If you can find a small local metal buyer that will also sell, you can come away with some pretty good scores.
If it looks like lead it sells like lead! I've been really lucky so far.
