So how do these .32's shoot? Post some groups. I'm particularly interested in the single-six's accuracy.

I just got a S&W Model 30-1 and have been wanting to shoot it all week. Tonight was my first opportunity. Ammo used was Aguila 98 grain .32 Long.

Last group of the night. 10 yards, Double Action, freestyle (2-handed) grip. I was finally starting to get the feel of the trigger, the coil spring in the J-frame felt a lot different than the mainspring typical in the K & L frames I'm used to. Excuses aside, with some decent handloads, I expect much better accuracy out of this platform.

I haven't worked up a load for the .32 SSM that I have yet, but I have high hopes for it. I do have one .32 revolver that has proven to be exceptional with the right loads, and almost every other .32 revolver I have messed with has been at least "pretty good" with the exception of one very old iver johnson top break .32 S&W (not the long) that had a tight action, but a bore that looked like a cheese grater. It timed right, and was consistent, but I had to hold the sights about 6" to the left of the target at 7 yards (not the bullseye, but the entire 12" target) to get it on the paper, and even then, it would only slap the target with sideways bullets at 7 yards. Needless to say, that one didn't stay long.

When I go shoot the .32 ruger again next week, hopefully I'll be able to share more.

My early 1920's I frame Hand Ejector shoots to the left, but puts every bullet in the same hole at thirty feet. I've fired this old .32 long with sucess at much further ranges but never at a paper target.
The rear sight notch is dead center of the top strap and the semi circle relief cut, but the ferrule in the top strap is angled to the right rear.
I suspect the notch had been filed by a previous owner to match either his eyes or a brand of ammo that would have printed dead on to that sighting.

I have been considering having the rear notch filed in by welding and recutting it, or filling it in with silver solder. If centered to the ferrule the notch would be a hair right of center to the top strap. That would put POI at point of aim.
I'll probably try a temporary fix with JB weld first, to see if thats the right course.

For some reason every S&W revolver or autoloader I've fired wanted to hit to the left, Colts on the other hand always print dead center to the fixed sights but usually low.

Good morning
Here I was thinking another 32-20 thread was a brewing...
I am wondering if those projectiles are fat enough to fill those cylinder throats ?

This is using my standard load with Lee TL314-90-SWC loaded on a 550B out of my original run Single Six. Not too bad for my tired old eyes........

5155 brings up a good point. S&W 32 caliber revolvers tend to run slightly wider throats and grooves than do Colts, Ruger seem to to split the difference. That has been my experience, anyway.

T/C Contender in 32 H&R at 35 yards. This load may not be safe in your gun.
