22" of ice around Helena today. No Salmon and the perch bite was slow, but there was plenty of sunshine and it beat going to work. Gianni.

HA! you call that ice? We drive a PU across the Tanana to go fishing. This is a wide fast moving river. Like your bitter root Gianni only bigger.
They also make ice bridges and run log trucks accrost it. This time of year you have to put a 12" extension on a reguler 36" auger. You want ice ? We got ice!!! BTw we put up over 100 lbs of pike this year so far. Had some fresh for lunch.
