The wife's mini-van needed a new tire, so I took it to Pep Boys. While waiting, I strolled around the parking lot. This yielded about a half dozen WW of varying sizes. While paying for the tire, I figure 'what the hell, it never hurts to ask'.
Me: I'm just wondering, what do you guys do with the old WW?
Dude @ tire counter: We send them back in buckets to the recycling center since there is lead in them.
Me: Is there any chance that I could recycle some of them?
Dude: [puzzled look on his face] Why, what do you use them for?
Me: I cast them into rifle boolits.
Dude: Let me see what I can find.
He comes out of the shop with a small 1 gallon bucket that was about 3/4 full. He dumped them into a box for me since they need the bucket for sending WW back (it is pre-labeled with its contents).
I figure I have about 25# of raw material. Not a bad haul considering I fully expected a no from a large (high visibility) place like Pep Boys.
