Does anyone know what the exact material Lee makes there sizing dies out of? The die is for a .224 boolit. Thanks, Sprink

No clue...I know it isn't anywhere near the hardness of the custom dies that some on here are making. I know I picked up the same sizing die to derim some 22LR and I've put a 5 gallon bucket worth thru it. If it wears out...big deal...it cost me $15 and it has already paid for itself. I don't think it really needs to be any harder than it is for its intended purpose.

I just want to heat treat this for my own personal use so it will last, I have the heat treat oven. I made a point forming die and it went a .001 over after polishing I'm going to make another, but in the mean time I will draw them down .001.
