I just bought a 45/90 Pedersoli replica Sharps and want to eventually shoot black powder out of it but at the present, I want to try some smokeless powder loads. I have an abundant amount of SR4759 which I use for a lot of my cast bullet loading. Does anyone have any experiance using SR 4759 with 45/90 loading? I will be using the 535gr Postell bullet. I have looked and cannot find any loading data using 4759. I just need a starting point and maximum data. Thanks

Accurate Arms has smokless data for the 45/90 using thier powder. You could use thier data in conjunction with a burn rate chart and extrapolate. Use your thinking cap!

I use 28.0 grs for 1450 fps from a 32" barrel.

I would think that using 45-70 mid range loads and working from there would be a start.

agree with 45-70 loads as a start. Unless hunting cape buffalo I've never seen the fascination of shooting heavy loads either rifle or handgun.
I know some folks like it but at 70 body isn't as good as it once was
