I did not like the longer mag for carry purposes with that bulky plastic end on it. Now some one suggest on You Tube and other places about making a couple of cuts on a 1911 mag and prying a tab up so it will catch in a Hi Point. I tried it and was less than satisfied. So I cut down a factory mag and added the bottom of the 1911 mag that I had tried to rig like the You tube video suggested. I like mine better as the catch is factory and I know it will work and not weaken the mag in that spot. I cut off the 1911 mag about 3/8ths up from the bottom and cut off the Hi Point Mag where the plastic ends. Left the spring the same length. Used two spring roll pins to pin in place after gluing with Zap a Gap glue. That glue is probably strong enough to hold as if you glue a cue tip on a cue and try to twist it off after it dries either the ferrule or wood will twist off. Do not ask how I know. But I know with the pins it will stay put. LOL I found I had to cut the front end of the body off the 1911 mag for it to fit right inside the Ho Point mag. That is easy to see and you may have to do a little grinding to make it fit. only takes a min with a dremel and a sanding disc or drum. Forgot to add it now holds 7 instead of 9 rounds.
