I finished up some more customer dies and had some fun making some .375 bullets. Had great results making jackets from 9mm, 38spc, 357mag and 223rem brass. I know severial others here are shooting the same 375 bullets made from either of these cases, maybe they will chime in.

Each case has unique requirements to use for .375 jackets. The 357 mag is a bit spendy, you could sell those for nearly the price of new comercial jackets but the rest of the choices are a lot cheaper.

All require to be resized slightly and more so in the case of the 9mm. This is easliy acomplished pushing the cases completly threw a 9mm taper crimp die.

The 38 and 357 need the rim removed. This can be done on a lathe (slow) or with a shear die (extra cost). Both works fine. I turned the rims off in the lathe because I misplaced or more likly remachined my shear die for some other task.

The 223rem is a good choice for heavier bullets (200 grains on up since the 9mm works so well for 240 and less) but needs to be trimed. Very easy and quick if you can master a simple jig with a mini chop saw and altered case trimer (I have posted lots on this technique.

I used various pieces of lead for cores but the .312 95ish grain cast boolits 2 per case work good. Males the 240 grain bullets pictured.

So how about some pics! Just one for now.

What we have here is bullets made from two different point form dies. One flat nose for the 375win lever action shooters with a .220 metplat and the other a standard point or spitzer with a .130 metplat.

From left to right,

200 grain FN from 9mm, 240 grain FN from 9mm, 240 grain 9mm SP, 240 grain 38spc, 300 grain 38spc, 300 grain 357mag and 340 grain .357 mag.

Good shooting and Swage On,

I do have one complete set of each of these dies, FN and SP, avialble to anyone interested. Everything you need including the base punch ram to push cases threw a 9mm taper crimp die (9mm TC die not included).

Set of dies looks like this minus the small sizing die. Your 9mm taper crimp die would take the place of this small sizing die. Pic is of my 22 cal set soon to be avialble.

Cost is $485 for either of the complete .375 die sets with your choice of nose style plus +$10 S&H. Post an I'll take it followed with PM, first come first serve on these two die sets. I'll be able to make more but it will be end of year before any more are avialble.

I made these bullets in a stock Lee Classic Cast press. Dies will work in any decent reloading press using a hammer to eject the bullets.

Good shooting,

BT

Thanks. I'm certainly doing my best and continue to learn and perfect more everyday. I'll have to look into shipping rates for down under. After seeing how well these 375s came together your 9.3 is not goign to be a problem. Matter of fact that 9mm taper crimp die will work perfect for you to make your .360 jackets from 223rem brass.

I plan to make a 9.3 set of dies for you in my next run of dies. Might have another run ready by christmass. The base cost will be similar to what is posted above with shipping the only kicker.

Thanks

Wish I could get some recovered .375 bullet pics but I don't even have a 375 cal gun :( I know I have seen others here post the recovered bullet pics of the .375. Pretty impressive bullets from the looks of them.

My next plan with the .375 is make some bullets from 3/8 copper tubing. That may have to waite a couple weeks I have a few more customer orders to complete.

I love looking at pictures of recovered bullets, that would be nice to have a separate forum for,you think?

I can do that as far as some extra pics. Give me a couple days, plus or minus a week :)

Yep knew the 9.3 was .366 so starting with a jacket of .360 will be PERFECT! Always swage UP in size!

BT

Well atleast a seperate thread for recovered bullets. I may have started somthing like that a while back, I don't know? I too love the look of recovered bullets.

It can be yours. Only cost you a little over 200lbs of scrap brass :) If the dies don't sell and I find some time I'll make you up some. Those 200-240 grain bullets from 9mm brass where pretty easy to make. Look great too.

Good shooting.

I'm taking a load of brass to the recycler in Eugene tomorrow for the R&G Club. I'll let you know the current price. Maybe we can work something out, but that would be a lot of shipping!

Oh no, I'm not in need of brass :) I just knew you make severial trips to recycle and can get top dollar. I figured about $2.25 a pound x 200 is almost the $485 price I have it offered at. Just looking for cash. I barly have enough time to load or work with the 100 gallons of brass I allready have.

Good shooting

So you are saying that you have the .224 dies done?

I need to to my review on Lafaun's squirt die. I just got a job and am finally employed so life seems hectic but I will get it done in the next couple of days.

By the way I love the thing.

Nope not yet. I said "soon to be availble". I'm still working on the point form dies. I did pick up a new Savage 12BVSS 223 rem though for testing at least.

Havn't had time to play with the squirt die yet either.

Good luck with the new job.

Brian, sign me up for the "200# of brass for a set of .308" program. :)

I have enough brass, I could probably trade for an entire set of your dies. Good thing I already have most of what I need. The lady at the post office would begin hating my visits.

At times I do consider partial trades of goods for my dies. Just to be clear though I have more brass then I need right now and I'm not accepting brass in trade for dies.

Fred there has a great buyer that gives him top dollar for brass and I was just being funny. I suggested he sell 200 lbs of brass to cover the cost of a new set of dies. That would have been about the $485 to cover the cost of the dies. :)

Good shooting

BT,

Initially I was going to volunteer to shoot some 375 for you, but on reflection I figured I would offer to have you come over and use my gun and shoot them yourself. Season starts soon.

What weight?

When does the season start?

I would love to do more shooting :)

My bow elk season started last weekend. I'm still working in the shop though trying to get customers orders filled.
