I have a SR 93 Mauser action and a 308 military barrel that I am considering getting rebored to a 358 for my cast boolit shooting. I understand quite well the limitations of the SR Mauser, especially the Spanish versions and would make sure that it is only used for low pressure cast loads.

I built my son a 358 on a 98 FN militay action some years ago and he loves it. We use the group buy 35 mould that I purchased here.

Anyone else have any comments on a SR 358 that they want to share?

I have a M91 Argentine SR that is rebarreled to .35 Remington. It is an excellent rifle and i push the RCBS 35-200-FN to 2150 fps with deadly results on deer. Suggest a 14" twist as optimum with 12" twist as minimum on the rebore.

Thanks Larry. I believe that the 35 Rem would be a better match than the 358 Win, at least as far as safety goes.

Upon further investigation, my 93 action is actually made by Lowe in Germany. I cannot determine the country yet as the markings are very faint or covered up by the finish/grunge.

Have you experienced any issues feeding or with the extractor holding the 35 Rem rim? I believe it runs a little smaller that the 308 family.
