I am going to start using Trail Boss for cast boolits ,im going to use it in 30-06 and 303 with 160 and 200 gn bullets.
Do the boolits have to be gas checked or plain base OK ?,plus any starting loads you can share ?.
TIA:violin:

Find where the base of your bullet is located in the case then fill the case to that level with trailboss, pour that into a scale and weigh.
This is the MAXIMUM load allowed. Take 70% of the maximum by weight as your starting load.

.30'06 with 150 grn J-word shows on the link between 13.3 and 19.0 - check the link

Howdy !

DK if this helps....

In .35 Rem shot from a Marlin M36 XLR, I started with 8.5gr Trailboss under
Rem .35 calibre 150PSPs.

I'm aware of what the recommended method is, for figuring out Trailboss loads
for particular cases, none-the-less....

My accuracy testing @ the range ended in the result that I could put 14.5gr Trailboss into the .35 Rem case, and seat the 150PSPs w/ just a hint of
compression. ( you don't want to fracture the Trailboss " kernels " ).

From what MY loads showed in MY gun, accuracy kept getting better and better as the charges of Trailboss increased. In the end, the reason the load is 14.5gr Trailboss is that.... I can't get any mor powder into the case w/o having to do exces compression !

I was shooting/testing @ 100yd. Heck, I coulda' pulled the trigger, then eaten
a ham sandwich before the bullet ever reached the target ! No recoil to speak of, very low noise.

For me, reduced I4759 loads proved to group better.

I use 14-15g T-Boss in 303 Brit and 30-06 with the bullet weights you mentioned with GC bullets. When i use plainbase i go to 10-11g.

I use pistol primers as well.It shoots as well as other powders i use its just more expensive than using Unique or 2400.
