View Full Version : Reenlisted today

Love Life

Well I reenlisted today and here is what I said:

I, , do solemnly swear that I will support and defend
the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God

I look forward to another enlistment to serve my Country, my fellow Marines, and the citizens of this great nation.

I always get such a rush when I say that oath, and I just wanted to share my happy occasion with the forum and the members I gain so much knowledge from.

Thank you everybody for your heart felt congratulations.

I want to thank my wife of 5 years for making this all possible. She was still a senior in highschool when I left for my first deployment, and in many ways I feel she has sacrificed more than I ever could.

Thanks for your, and all of the rest who are serving.
I thank you for seeing that your wife and family are also serving.

I have found it is harder to be the parent of a warrior than to be one.

May God bless you and yours.

Congradulations and a hearty thank you! What rank are you and how many years?

I am a Sgt/E5 and have 7 years 2 months and 24 days in the Marine Corps. I can't say I have loved every one of them, but it has been quite a ride.

Good for you. At least you have a job! Someone mentioned a couple days ago that one of their friends was going to re-up at 16 years, and they turned him down.

Thank you for serving this great country of ours. Also a big thanks to those who served before you, with you today and those who well serve tommorrow and in the far future. With out these brave soilders this great country wouldn't be.
I would also like to thank some other man and women world wide that sometimes put it all on the line to save us. the man and women of fire, police and paramedic.
Were would we be without those who do these jobs even when the going gets tough......

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU

Thank you for your service, Marine. If this old soldier can ever be of any assistance, don't hesitate to call. I dunno if you ever get to Korea or not, but you've got a place to crash if you ever make it to Camp Casey, and a hot meal (or two) - and a cold one!

Once again thank you all for the congrats and kind words.

Nicholst55-I almost went to Korea instead of here, but the boss (wife) killed that one in the bud.

Thank you for your service. I never served, myself, but I sure appreciate all you guys who do and have, the older I get.

Some of my best friends are Marines. I recently went to a gun show with one of them. He has his sergeant bars tattooed on his arm. I felt like I was tagging along with a member of an exclusive club. A couple times older guys would see the bars and talk to him, like old buddies swapping war stories, from battles many decades apart.

He's a JARHEAD??!! I knew there was something not quite right about that boy...
Seriously, congratulations and thank you for your service. I agree that reenlisting is probably a wise choice in this job market. The military is not a bad career choice in general if you can get retained when they cut back every few years. Get all the specialized training that you can.

Thanks for your service, make the most of it. Take every class you can, all the education you can get. Every one of them has college credit attached to it. Play it right and you will come out with a degree as well as mucho experience in leadership and management of people. All very marketable - especially with a degree.

Thank you Love Life for doin it again. Wayne Smith has some VERY good advice there. Get as much schooling as you can while your young. It gets harded as you get older. I too remember each time I gave the oath. 20 yrs. 2 days. USAF, 13 PCS, countless TDY's Veh. Maint. Refueling maint. & Fire Trk. maint.
Am now trying to get my son to go in. There sure isn't any work around here. He's 19 with a whole lifetime to go. Good luck in the Corp and hope everything works out for you.
