I'm getting a little concerned that he hasn't responded to this. He may just be unable to connect because of power out of no internet working where he is because of the earthquake.

Peru is a big place and the people there are as accustomed to them as hurricanes on the gulf coast and tornadoes in the middle. A 7 mag is a large event though. Nothing like 2007 when they got a 8 on the coast.
