hello

first of all thanks for the great information that you guys put ere everyday.. I came across to these alloys in 1lb one is 87% lead 3% tin 10% antimony and the other is 92 % lead 6% tin 2% antimony. I have like 100 kg of lead i don't know if it's pure or not, my question is can i mix these ready made alloys to my lead and what will be the ratio to mix with my lead

thanks

First thing you need to do is figure out that mystery lead. You can compare the hardness to some known pure lead for starters.

Then you can download my alloy calculator here: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=105952

There are two spaces for custom alloys. Enter your information and play around with the weights of what you have to find the desired specs of the alloy you want to make. Let me know if you have any questions.

if your other lead is soft or close to pure.
i'd go one lb of each of the ones you found [2 lbs total] to 3 lbs of the soft stuff you got.
that should make some nice revolver boolits.
if you want to make the alloy harder leave one lb of the soft stuff out that will be an alloy close to late 70's early 80's ww's with 1% tin added, which should be @12-13 [without the arsenic of course]
you could waterdrop or heat treat the first alloy [@ 10 bhn] with the addition of a teaspoon of sulpher to a 20 lb pot [sulpher is found at a garden supply store] and get an 18-24 bhn from them.

100 kilos is a significant quantity and an investment on it's own. I suggest it would be worth it to you to purchase a hardness test kit and really simplify getting answers about your investment. I use this one and like it a lot:
