does anyone use the Old AA8700 in the 45/70?

Have a couple of lb's of AA8700 I was wanting to use in the 45/70 with a 430gr bullet, does anyone have a load or advice?

I used it and it leaves a lot of unburned powder but as for loading just fill the caseleaving enough room to lightly compress the charge and seat the bullet. You can not get enough powder into the case to worry about pressure unless you are using a TD but probably not even then.

Accurate also recommends a magnum primer with that powder.

According to Accurate's Number Two Manual
420gr. (Ly 457193) 54.0 8700 1025fps 60.0 (Max trapdoor) 1165fps 11,700psi (compressed load). 24" test barrel
