At a local hardware store today I walked past a small display of 50-50 wire solder.
One pound spool was $9.95.
Can this be real ?
Forget gold, it's my 20 year stash of solder that's gonna carry me through retirement !

Last week at the plumbing wholesale warehouse, lead free solder - 96.5% tin, 3% silver, 0.5% copper - was priced at $29.95 per pound.
I left it on the shelf and left.

The last 95/5 that I bought was 16.00.
It doesn't take much to get the job done.

I've seen 95/5 over $20/lb around here lately.

The $9.95 per pound of 50/50 is about par.

Went to the local swap meet found 5 lb. roll of 60/40 solder for $5
