Not only a bullet, but a mould too.

I made the mould over a decade ago to cast some bullets for a friend who owned a gun making business that made double rifles. He was bringing his rifle to the range to regulate the barrels - at over £60.00 (~$100) per shot I felt compelled to do something. The rifles weighed 19lb and the barrels started life as forgings for 20 m.m. cannon barrels.

BTW, the bullets in the ammunition he was using were by Woodleigh of Australia, and were just cut off from bar bronze stock with a saw and the nose cut on a lathe with a profile tool. A bit crude I thought considering the price. Did the job though, on the rifle's first trip to Africa two large Buff fell to two shots. Penetration was awesome and internal damage was described by his PH as "devastating".

I have a custom service and will aquire the mold. I have no minimum purchase for designs in inventory but if not yet in inventory there will be a $75.00 minimum. In standerd alloy those will run $37.00 per 100 so you will be looking at a 200 boolit minimum.

I dont have the gun, I just collect bullets... plus I have Titanium rods holding my back together so I cant shoot anything stronger than a 30-06 in a rifle..

If you cast anyway,,,
next time you are pouring lead just make a temporary mold from a dry sand ,,,stick a 5/8ths or so dowel in there and pour a slug. You can further tune it with a nice wide hammer and rolling inbetween some strong steel or shave it down with a sharp knife to shape. you arent looking for a consistent slug, just a display piece anyway.
Be a heckuva lot cheaper than a machined copper slug.

Nice start on your collection.

Here is a picture of the bullets. On the left is an original 1000 gr. Woodliegh recovered from the backstop. The other is one from my mould, again 1000 gr., bullet weight was the critical aspect here in order for the barrels to be regulated.

Thats not a rifle round, it is a morter shell!

Interestingly a friend of mine worked in the arms industry and when told of the price of the original H&H factory ammo, it came in boxes of one (why not two?), he remarked that they cost £10 (~$17) more than an 81 m.m. mortar bomb. Indeed, he went on to pose the question of "wouldn't it be cheaper to call in an air strike?".

A strange property of this round is that when you show one to a woman she will automatically try to see where the batteries go!
