Thought I'd beef up the supply a little. Did a forum search and didn't find much by way of specifics on this. Anyone?

Also, I find myself obsessing about finding every case. Does anyone have a brilliant idea to collect it? Often the lawn at the range is in need of mowing, making the recovery of spent cases a 50/50 proposition at best.

Thought about spreading out a large bedsheet or something similar to keep it from falling down in the grass....

I bought a 9 X 18 painters cloth tarp from menards for about $20.00. Then place it on the ground were my brass lands. Lot easier to pick them off the tarp then search thought the grass. I get about 99.9 % of my brass back. I got the cloth one as it dont blow around like the plastic tarps.

No 9mm at the moment, but a source to keep in mind in the future:

As for losing brass, I simply shoot in the same spot in the middle of now where, so when I collect my brass, what I do miss I potentially find next time.

As far as picking brass up, try a pecan/nut picker upper from hardware/Tractor Supply. You may have to adjust the wires, but the rolling one works good for 40 and 45 for me. YMMV.

I had a couple of GI mosquito bars left over from my army days. These make great brass catchers and ball up into a very small ball for carrying to and from the range./beagle

If you still need 9mm brass, I have 3 gallons of it. You can have it for $30.00 per 1000 delivered to your door.
Let me know if you or anyone else wants some.
Thanks

Bullpen, sorry I have no idea where you are located, but a drive to where people stop and blast is a great way to pick up brass. Those of you who are restricted to ranges are at somewhat of a disadvantage.
Around here brass is pretty much FREE, just have to bend over and pick it up. I have in the past put up targets in dirt logging road banks and posted targets to old Stumps ( NEVER on Sellable logs or timber !!) and come back a couple weeks later to pick up a milk jug full of mixed caliber brass..
Ya just have to get resorcefull , make this hobby as cheap as possible...I have brass stored in 5 gallon buckets that I have picked up over the years. "PJ"
