I really do not know much about shotgun scopes or what will work on them. I have never used a scope on a shotgun. All I am looking for is 2 scopes for the boys, good enough for a few shots a year for slug guns to deer hunt with. Nothing fancy but I do not want junk either.
Thanks to all, never to old to learn I am all ears please chime in.
Thanks

Last year I bought a Tasco World Class shotgun scope for about $59 and mounted it on my 45-70 Marlin. It has held up well and has a lifetime warranty. It was designed for a shotgun(says so on box). It is very clear and a little shorter overall than a regular rifle scope.
I like it!

Here is a link to it.

I just put together a slug barrel on a Rem 870 and thought about a red dot sight. I will watch this thread with interest.

I currently have a Bushnel shotgun scope on the 870 slug gun , Trophy I believe

Plenty of eye relief and it has held up fine for 2 seasons of hunting and testing

I have an obsolete 1X Burris on a heavy Hastiings, scout scoped barreled 870 that has been uncanny for at least 18 years. Just put a good red dot on a 12 H&R Ultra that is wonderful, as well. Both shoot the 2 3/4 sabots best.

simmons makes a decent long eye relief 2x30 shotgun scope and has a diamond in it for putting the turkey head in
runs about 50.00

Thanks to all of you, anyone have 1 or 2 for sale or to trade off.
Not a fan of the red dot had 1 on a crossbow did not like it, thru it in the pond. I do not know if crossow red dot and shotgun are the same, if they are I'll pass on those.
Thanks again;

I like the Nikon Omega 2x7 shotgun/muzzle-loading scopes. Has 5 in. of eye relief which is what I need. No more cut eyebrows.

I have a bsa 2.5 x 20, with the circle-cross hair reticule. scope is about 7 inches long. does not have enough eye relief for a pistol, but probably has 8 inches or so. does not have a wide field of view, maybe because it is mounted further away from the eye. I would take 20.00 shipped. Daryl

i have the Nikon pro staff 2x7-32mm , mounted on my 12ga deer gun ,i have taken a lot of deer with that gun , it really helps with shots in the woods out to 75 85 yards with lots of trees in the fore and back ground to discern the deer well and place the shot where you want it.
we found we were loosing more deer to the woods growing thicker and the deer being able to stay at the outer limits of our range , so the scope really helped bring the range out another 30-40 yards my slugs with a 50 yard zero drop 3 inches at 100

7 power might be a touch over kill for most hunting but it sure is nice when your sighting in
