Anyone using this bullet in a shiloh sharps with black powder?

How's it working out?

The lyman 405 grain I have cast way undersize @ .456 :mad:

Looking for a good hunting bullet for the 45-70.

I like the Ranch Dog moulds 360 and 420 gr. I size them and lube in the RCBS LAM as I need to apply the gas check anyway.

I have that Lyman mould that drops .3585 w/ 1-30.
I have never developed a BP load for that bullet , have worked up a smokeless load with it in my Pedersoli 74 while firefireforming brass.
it shoots great.

I don't have the NOE 405 ,I have the 460- 500 RF drops .4605 w/ 1-30.
I am curently working on a BP load with this bullet for my Trapdoor, it is showing a lot of promise. So much promise that I decided to go to a larger mold.
Tom at Accurate Molds is cutting me one that will throw a .462 min -.000 +.0015 .
Springfield Trapdoors run a little oversize with their bores. While fireforming brass with
AA 5744 to be necksized for BP shooting bullets sized & lubed .459 ,while waiting for oversized expander plugs & sizer dies from The Lathe Smith tumbled & keyholed .
