I am shooting a 44 Rem. Mag. 240 grain RNFP in my Marlin 1894. It is a plain base boolit with a lube groove. I am currently filling the groove by dipping with a suitable lube and not getting any leading. Velocity around 1200 fps with 9.5 gains of Unique. Looking at 18 grains of 2400 and a velocity of around 1400 fps. Bullet fit is good as it is loaded at 0.435" in a 0.432" groove. My question: Do you think that tumble lubing in Lee Alox will give me the lube I need to avoid leading at that velocity and a good fit? How about the 1200 fps? My present method of lubing is messy and I am looking to improve it without spending a bunch of money. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions. This darn rifle is growing on me!!!!!!
About all you can do is load 20 - 30 rounds and shoot them ?
Let us know how it works out.
If money is a consideration ( it always is with me ! ), you might want to take
a look at this :

You could take a fired case from a .444 Marlin and make a nice " Kake Cutter."

Awsome Ben,
Good advise. I will have to see if if can find something in the 0.444 Marlin range to use. This is a good option. Last time I played with high velocity and no GC, I think I left more lead in the barrel than exited the muzzle.:violin: I now approach things a little more slower.

I haven't shot what you are, but I have had success with two coats of LLA up to 1500fps.
You could easily start to pan lube--read the sticky for recipes will give you lots to start with. I would probably order some samples of 50:50, BAC, 2500, and Carnauba Red stick lubes. Melt them down and try pan lubing and see how they work.
Lots of people love dipping. I think they like the control they have.
Check Recluse's 45:45:10 tumble lube.
