need help picking a scope

im looking to put a period correctish scope on my 1951 model 94 in 32 special. what scopes from mid 40's to mid 50's would you guys recommend. new scopes just dont look right on old guns. looking for a max of 4 or 5 power.

I put a Weaver Classic V-Series 1-3X20 Dual X on my 1895 XLR Marlin. The field of view is great for shots you will be taking with your 32 Win Special. I am 72 years old and I set mine at 1.5X and leave it there. Eyes are not what they used to be.

K-1 or 1.5. Tough to find. An Alaskan would also work. Truth is most rifles from that era wore a recvr sight if the factory sights were upgraded.

well ive got a tang site, a carbine ladder site, and a lyman reciever site from some old collected parts however on this rifle id like to have a scope. looking for a used one so i can have it match the worn finish on the gun

Check ebay and do a "vintage weaver scope" search.

A modern scope that would look alright is a 2.5X Leupold Ultra Lite fixed power. It has simple lines and is a dandy scope for a lever. My 444 looked like an early combe due to the fixed power and straight tube. I found the scope worked well from feet to 250 yards real well.

It also has outstanding eye relief of 4.9" advertised. Some folks consider Leupold as technically dated but I have used and can recommend thier customer service. They rebuilt mine after 25 years from a shipping accident free of charge in 2 weeks. For Canada that is unheard of service.

Any servicable K2.5, K3, or K4 Weaver would work. Have picked up a couple on ebay in the past couple of years that are excellent overall and work well. Have one on a 375H&H, and it stands up well. Good luck!

I had a K3 Weaver with tip-off mount on my Marlin .32 Win Spec. back in 1966. It was precise enough to pop fox at 100-120 yards in SW Michigan along the Paw Paw River.
Rifle was used by my uncle about 5 years when I got it from him.

I know that the Bushnells are not quite as highly regarded as the Lymans by many, and I don't know how far back Bushnell goes, but I like finding an old Command Post that still works. The one on my No. 3 is a 6X (too much for a lever for me) and the post is actuated with a lever onder the windage cap. Just make sure you actuate it once every couple months to keep it limber.
