Need some help
I have a Sherline Lathe and a new old Logan Lathe
On the Sherline Lathe to turn tappers if you want a 60 Degree tapper you rotate the head 30 degree mark
or
Set the the cross side attachment that cuts on the back side with the tool upside down. You set it at 30 degrees to get a 60 degree tapper.
On to the Logan
I set the crossslide on 30 degrees. I make my cut and it looks wrong. I set the crossslide at 60 degress, make my cut and it look right now.
Logan scale is on the back side of the lathe and its hard to see. I use a USCG signal mirror to see it. Why they put it on the back side beats me.
Can anyone tell me whats going on?
