Yep! All the time. 1/4oz often they are just the steel clamp. Heck, if they got lead on em' melt em'

yeah the clip weighs almost as much as the lead itself. it makes less room for larger ones but melt it all when you can get it is the saying.

Got at least 40 or 50 out of every 5 gallon bucket of ww, the clip weighed more.

Yeah, I did.

Very common in "shop" wheelweights.

I just sorted two five gallon buckets of WW. I found several of the little 1/4 oz.

More demanding drivers in lighter cars. In a 50-60s tank a 1/4 oz wouldn't be noticed. In today's Styrofoam and plastic cars a 1/4 oz off, will shake it to pieces. Plus the equipment to balance tires is much more accurate than the old bubble in the center.

I seperate them out. Pick them up with needle nose pliers by the clip...zap them with a self lighting propane torch and tap the clip on the edge of the pot and drop whats left into a steel can. Ervin

The wheel balancers are getting more accurate, and the smaller weights are the results. Folks demand all the smooth ride, their suspension will give.
Don't complain about their size, they are lead wheel weights. Just be glad they aren't Zinc or Fe. The end of all lead WWs is near.

Smaller lighter wheels & tires use, need smaller weights. go to the wrecking yard, truck section. big tires & wheels, big weights.
