Firts of all hello guys

I am new to casting bullets but i have searches for a while on the net and found useful information about casting but here is the where experts can answer more practical questions. I have pure lead and i want to cast 9mm 40s&w 45 acp for some plinking and punching holes into paper. what is a reliable alloy that i can mix with pure lead and found easily, what are the proper ratios for lead-antimony , lead-antimony-tin, lead-ww.

thanks for the great stuff you find here keep it up

Thanks
fellas

Fellas:
Welcome to the Cast Boolits Sir.
There a lot of the casters/shooters here that mix 50/50 with pure lead and ww metal. Seems to work well for them. It is easier, and a lot cheaper than buying tin and antimony and mixing your own alloy. Generally, it is cheaper to swap for alloys you need than to buy tin or antimony.
I cast and shoot straight ww's with 1-2% tin. Straights ww's will work though.
If you need ww metal, i'm sure someone would do a swap with you for some of your lead.
I have solder that I will swap for some of your pure lead if you are interested.

I agree with littlejack, when i come across pure lead i mix in 50% clip-on ww makes good boolits
for paper punching.
