I'm new to this site today, been watching it for years and reloading for over 40yrs. trying to score some cheap tin????

I have a 7-1/4 by 10-1/2" platter; weight 14oz that is stamped with the pewtarex York Pennsylvania trade mark.

Anyone know if this is pewter and what else could be in it?

Thanks ( found out it's aluminum )

New and can't figure out how to delete this post

I always try the fast and simple bend test.

Real pewter usually isn't thick. And, so it's somewhat easy to bend by hand. It should bend like "solder" which is a feel that most of us can relate to.

Aluminum, especially cast aluminum (which is what your plate probably is), is almost impossible to bend.
