Pete--

The CZ Makarov is poly-bored? Interesting.

My East German Mak eats up the RCBS castings @ .365". I use 380 ACP data +10%, and that has worked well for 15 years or so. That last bit was out of Barnes' "Cartridges of the World", IIRC.

My pistol might be the best pocket auto I've ever owned, and I've had more than a few of them. Its accuracy is on par with my PP in 32 ACP, which takes some doing--both are real tackdrivers, and have "done in" their share of jackrabbits and ground squirrels.

yup sure is.9mm mak the only cal they did it in.I have check a few boards and most reports are saying great groups with fjm/hp's.I was just wondering about shooting cast in it I don't need a glock "KB" going on:-D .
thanks

Understood, Pete.

I'm not real sold on the idea that lead boolits alone are to answer for the Glock kB situation. I currently have a little project under way involving a Glock 21 (45 ACP) and cast boolits, and so far I can't create a leaded bore in the barrel of this pistol. Refer to the "Glock Demystification" thread elsewhere on the board for details, but the basic thrust is that I matched the boolit size to the barrel size--just like I do with conventionally-rifled barrels. So far--so good.

Beautiful! I like those 700 Classics - I have one in 7x57 and it's very accurate with j-words. On my first trip to the range with it I tried two or three different "recipes" and they all put 5 under an inch @ 100 yards. Load development was a quick process with that one! I've used it as a deer rifle for several years with a 139 gr. Hornady @2850 and you couldn't ask for a more perfect deer rifle! Good luck with your 8mm.

NICE FIND! Those 700 Classics are self-named, and a sporter in 8 x 57 is a scarce, desirable item. I snoozed twice on such things--first on a Steyr-Mannlicher Professional, then on the 700 Classic. Not smart--at all.

I joined the CZ-82 club this weekend. :) That polygonal barrel sure look funny. Almost like a smooth bore. Shoots nice though especially with the Fiocchi ammo I could get. I'd be real interested in how your cast boolit efforts pan out in the little auto. Please keep us posted on the progress.

Pete--

2 very nice rifles in GREAT calibers......still kicking myself for not getting Steyrs in 9.3 x 62--8 x 57--or 6.5 x 55. Other rifles are serving well currently in those calibers, so it wasn't The End Of The World.

I'm convinced that boolits that fit will work in poly bores--or just about any other barrel form, for that matter. The Mak is a fine little blowback pistol.

Only a true Bohunks would make a smooth bore 12 round 380 from solid steel and put it in a suitcase for a holster.

I have one of thse and have yet to shoot a cast bullet through it. I don't know why a linotype slug shouldn't work though. Even if it leads you won't have a problem getting it out of the grooves. Oh well I love jaternice so I should learn to love this.
