No not really. I'm actually very surprised it was as good as it was. The 2.5x Leupold has a Dot reticle and the dot just fits inside the large diamond so it doesn't lend itself to precise aiming in my opinion. Certainly good enough for hunting tho. Perhaps it's the act of loading and unloading and not getting a repeatedly consistent grip on the gun. That would be my guess.

The reason I asked is that I've experienced the same vertical stringing
when testing pistols if I allow the butt of the pistol to sit on a bag or a hard surface.

If the pistol is held in my hands , the vertical stringing problem disappears.
