I went to 6 tire stores today asking about wheel weights. Needless to say I struck out. Either they are recycling them or they already have someone collecting their lead from WW and batteries. I haven't given up yet but I looked online and I can get lead ingots for $1.10 a pound. Now if I go this way then there is a lot of money that I can save. I won't have to buy a propane turkey fryer, a dutch oven, muffin tins, ladle, skimming spoon and propane. Am I misinformed?

Makes perfect sense to me. That is what I have been doing. I figure with the cost of gas to go to tire shops and scrap yards along with propane, a burner, ingot molds, etc. I am coming out on top buy buying my lead already smelted for $1.10 a pound shipped.
