I'm shooting open sights, I'd like to remove the bolt and bore sight the gun since that works well for me with my model 70 bolt action. At least I'd be well onto the paper.

If I was to zero in at 50 yds, what distance would I use to bore sight?

Would 25 feet be far enough? It seems to work well with my model 70 but it does have a scope mounted on it.

I use 50 ft for all my rifles. Gets me on the paper so I can zero where i want.

First shot at 15 feet, from a dead steady rest will tell you where the sights need to go, once on, move to 25 yrds. and sight in 1"high, you will then be all set for any distance out to 100 yards ;)
