I just got a 35 remington Handi Rifle for my B'day!! Now I have a few questions please!!
Does Lee make a mold for the .35 rifle?? I cant seem to find one. Being a single shot, I can use a pointed boolit, but do want a flat one for deer hunting!!!
Also. I assume I can use the Lee sizer that I use for my 357/38 pistols since it is the same bore diamater? [ dumb question I know]
Any input on pistol bullets in this round, either j word or cast?
I appreciate any input!!!
Thanks
Jeff

check out Ranch Dog Outdoors for his 35 Remington mold. Throws a nice 190 grain gascheck RNFL. It can be sized at either .359 or .358 depending on your barrel. And yes, the Lee sizer works nicely if its the right size, seats the gascheck too if you use one.

If you dont want to "roll your own", I can supply that bullet ready to load. I cast/sell many of RDO's boolits for those who either want to try em or just dont cast em themselves.

check out my website for prices/shipping and more information.

BTW, since when did NEF chamber the Handi Rifle in 35 Remington. I'd love to have one myself.

Oddly, Lee does not list a .35 rifle mould, though they do have lots of .357 pistol designs. My recommendation is the RCBS 35-200-FN, which will give very good accuracy, and can be boosted to near full jacketed velocity in the .35 Remington.

Lucky man !

Using pistol boolits is one of the great "pluses" of the .35 Rem. My first cast-boolit rifle was a .35 Rem Marlin 336, inherited from my old Dad. Right off I started loading 158 grain SWC, 'cause I had not yet started casting. Cast BHN 12-16, I could get them to 1850 fps using about 25 grains of 5744. No gas check either, and never any leading. Was hoping to get a try on a coyote with them, but never saw one when I had that rifle handy. I had a lighter load using Speer hollow-point SWC that went just subsonic, and made a great close-range chuck load. It used 2400, but don't remember the amount. To do that again today, I would use Trail Boss or Unique. Any of the heavier JHP recommended for .357 Max will work even better in the .35 Remington.

+1 on the RCBS 35-200-FN. It is and outstanding cast bullet in my Mauser .35 Remington.

The 35 rem Handi is a "special" run for the MS primitive weapon season. I understand they are not offered on the website as na accessory barrel.
Thanks so far for the info!!
