Cast several pounds of these from air cooled wheel weights, 213 grains, .455 diameter. My first dance with this mould. Any comments on mould number? Weight? Diameter? Thanks guys & God Bless...............Creeker

LAH,

I have several of the 452374. Most go .452 to 3, but one does .455. They vary, just like most things do.

Looks like somebody stripped the sprue plate screw doesn't it.

I'd shoot 'em.

I am in no way an expert but my thinking is that I prefer moulds that throw fat bullets. You can size them smaller but you can't stretch them bigger,... if too small to begin with.
I'd shoot them too.

Cat.........Rick...........I plan to shoot them on sell them but I was wondering about the bullets being so lite for WW alloy not to mention the large diameter. Seems odd for the Lyman which should be about 225 from #2 alloy. Go figure.

Looks like the cherry wasn't set deep enough to get the 225 grain weight. Looks like it will be a good, accurate boolit as it appears it will size above the lube groove as below. I have one four cavity mould does that and casts a perfect 225 grains. Also a four cavity that barely sizes below the grease groove and only drops 220 grains with the same alloy

Is that a spring loaded sprue plate mount, or just an innovative repair on a stripped
screw?

That's a Magma sprue cutter bolt set up using a Lyman sprue cutter.

You're right, it is light, especially with that OD. I think casterofboolits has called it. Can't tell from the pic, but it has to be a bit short or it couldn't be that light. Not that big anyway.
