One day I'll beat him out of it! He is just so hard to trade with! I remember when he traded a Super Blackhawk for it back when I was about 15. I thought it was a Lew Horton, but it isn't. I remember the box is marked 3" and TH/TT, but that is about all. I also can't remember if it is a -3 or -4. I know the box is in the shed with the rest of them, but I haven't looked at it in about 17 years(seems like yesterday). She just needs some smooth walnut grips for that round butt that is hidden under the RBBB's

Sorry about the poor quality of the pics.

Nice. You don't see many smooth unfluted barrels these days.

Far as I know, that is not a factory cylinder.
I would keep those grips on if you are going to shoot it.

It came from the factory that way. Maybe it is a left over Lew Horton cylinder. I believe the box is also marked unfluted, but I could be wrong on all accounts. When dad got it, it was NIB from the original owner(who also had a few Pre-64 M70's that still had the hanging tags on em!)

Could be, there were special runs. Might make it worth more.

I know all about dads and them trades. I now have in my possession an as new 70 series Colt 1911 that my dad treaded for back in the mid 80's, his trade fodder was at that time
a 20 year old fence charger

Nice looking 29 BTW

it's a 29-4 3 inch full lug/ unfluted cylinder, the pachmayr grips are stock (yuck)
it was made in 1989, with a product code #101251
and had a limited run of 2,532 produced
not super collectable, yet....... but getting there, seems everyone wants a snubby 29, untill they shoot one..lol
I picked up mine, unfired, in the box a few years ago..

I had 3 inch a 629 about 20 years ago that's the only smith and wesson I regret selling. The stock round butt finger groove didn't fit so I slapped some pachs like those on there and it would give me a blister after 200 rounds of stiff 240gr loads

I really should have wiped it off and took it outside for some decent light and pics. It's been laying on that dusty shelf for years.

No one has noticed the best thing about it..... PLUM! :)
