No more shooting my sky screens

Tonight I finaly did it
I was checking shotgun steel shot loads

I shot not the suport rods ( I long ago replaced them with wood dowels )
I shot the defusers , blew both to pieces


Can't even blam it on someone else

So I though a min and went Redneck :redneck:

I grabbed a cardboard box
Cut the top out and duct taped a white garbage bag over it
I then cut a opening at each end about the same as the sky screens
I then sat the Cronny and the low shot boolit deflector inside

Put the whole thing on the table and started shooting

The box started to slide a little from the muzzel blast , so I ducted it to the table

But I think I will make a better deflector out of a piece of 6x6x1/2 angle iron and weld it to some 3/16 to set the cronny on

That should be heavy enough to keep the box from moving


It works perfictly so far
And if I happen to hit the box or bag ..........Oh well
I have more

And they are cheap compared to new defusers or rods

I use weedeater line instead of the rods,, just make a loop as big as you want. I prefer the lime green.

Good solution, John, combined with a good deflector like you made it would also be good for arrows and BP rifles.

Gear, that looks like the muffler riser we put on the aux motor on the spray rig to get it up above the cab.
