A while back I ordered a .40 caliber Keith Style boolit mld from Dan to use in my 1911 10mm. this one is a 200gr. based on an article Glenn Fryxell(sp) did for the Herters .401 Powermag. I'd like to have a 180 grain version and was considering ordering it without a crimp groove, any thoughts on this?

Might be a bad move.

How does the 200 gr work for you? I'm surprised to see someone spec a revolver design for an autoloader. The 401s a revolver cartridge, so there's no direct correlation there. The crimp groove is useless in an autoloader, so that baffles me even more. I envision a true Keith style bullet requiring really deep seating to accommodate the necessary overall length to feed from the magazine

I think that a true "keith" boolit would be too long for the magazine and if seated deep would take up too much powder space and likely bulge the case where the 10mm walls get thicker. 10mm brass is heavy.
