After researching and talking to some people and not being able to find a hp mold for the 500. Also not wanting to modify my Lee 440 grain mold. So I made a jig to hold the bullet perfectly centered while being drilled. Took me about 2 hours from scratching the head to drillin first boolit. It work great! Fired up the drill press. Took a 2in by 2in block of steel bored the first hole the proper dia and just a hair longer than bullet. Then bored all the way through with a 9/32. Drilled in through the side and tapped 3/8 16. Inserted a 1/4 inch thick by 5/16 round hard rubber plug and bolt to hold the bullet in place and from spinning. Used a couple of my scrap bullets to test it out.

Am planning on something similiar for my 45s. Will be using a clamp on the drill bit to limit the depth of the HP into the boolit. Like your "twist stop" idea. May I use it--lol.
