Hello and greetings from Espaņa.
I have some monotipe lead (25 bhn more or less).
How much lead (lead pipe not pure) I need to cut one# monotipe to have similar alloy to wheel weight? around 12-14 bhn for use in 9mm.
Thanks at all.

I would use no more than 10 to 15 percent monotype to pure lead. Be sure to flux very well with sawdust or something like that to be sure the Sn and Sb in the monotype mix in well. I have found that monotype tends towards a lot of oatmeal like dross initially that needs to be fluxed and stirred in.

1 pound Monotype plus 5.3 pounds of Pipe Lead will get you an Alloy with 3% Antimony and 1.4% Tin.

That is as close as your gonna get to COWW with Mono and Lead only. (About 12 BHN). The extra Tin will be a good thing!

Make it easy and go with 1/5 ratio...

Another thing to consider, Most Monotype has some copper (CU) in it. Some people consider this a bad thing, others consider it a good thing. I consider it a good thing, as it will make your alloy stronger without making it brittle.

I've had good results with the "Medium Hard alloy" on the lasc site:

Monotype - 3 pounds
Clip-on Wheel Weights - 4 pounds
Lead - 3 pounds

It was a bit hard for my liking (BHN 16 ?), so I've blended this with equal amounts of lead.

Starting from scratch, this means:
Monotype - 3 pounds
Clip-on Wheel Weights - 4 pounds
Lead - 13 pounds

About 12 BHN air dropped and no leading in 9mm, 38 Special, .357 Mag and .44 Mag.

If you don't have wheel weights, I'd make a small batch and substitute it for lead:
3 pounds Monotype to 17 parts lead.

1 monotype to 5 lead sounds good to me .. that should work good
