on me, I already knew the gun would shoot better than I. Had my Kar98 out today, first time in several years. The dates on my load labels was 7/07 so that makes it 4 years. Modestly sporterized, all #'s match, rear sight and sleeve removed, front sight replaced with a Lyman, rear sight is a Williams 5D, stock is from a J.C. Higgins Model 50. 150 grain Sierra and Hornady over a case full of H380, standard LR primer in W-W Super cases. The old girl is a fantastic shooter. Gallon milk jugs at ranges out to 400 yards are not a problem. To paraphrase an exclamation from the movie "Independence Day", I'm glad I got me one of these!!!!!!!!!
I have thought about trying cast, maybe!!

I have a new (very old) 24/47 Yugo Mauser and I am trying to get to shoot lead, So far, up to about 1600 fps, it works good. Little leading and good as the sights will let me shoot it.
