Just in case you're thinking of messing around with roundball loads for your RBH in 45 Colt, here's what worked today.
Lee 454 roundballs ( they dropped at 457 with straight a/c w/w )
balls seated with sprue down, just past the equator
lubed with straight LLA
4.5 grains of Bullseye

In my 7.5" Blackhawk, all shots touched, offhand at 15 yards, penetrated 3/4" plywood, and broke off small mesquite branches after exit.

They shot about 1 inch lower than my regular 255gr boolit loads.
No wad, no filler
Cool huh?:Fire:

Very nice report. Two ball loads I expect?

Now that sounds like fun. I have to try them in my Vaquero.

They were single ball loads....But....That's an excellent idea!! Muhuhahaha!
Today, maybe I'll try the multi-ball thing! I'll probably up the powder charge a couple of grains.

If you add more projectile weight, you would lessen the powder charge.

Very cool...I'd like to know what they do at a little distance.

Be careful! Mulit ball loads can be terribly addicting!

My little brother is shooting three .646 balls in his 20 gauge rifle and I swear his grin goes all the way around his head.

I've been wanting to try RB, bu hadn't gotten around to looking for load data.
You think thats a Ruger only load, or would it go through my colt clone(Berretta Stampede) OK?

It seemed to have almost no recoil, so I wouldn't suspect any problems shooting it in other pistols. After all, that small powder charge under a relatively light projectile shouldn't present a challenge to any 45 colt firearm.
