Mysterious 4th hole on my CH press?
Does any one know what the 4th hole does on my old CH press?
Can any one tell me where it’s for, I can’t find proper answers on the internet.
Thanks

I think it was for the primer feed for the middle station

That makes sence now, on the Chat i have been told it can all so be used with a powder measure. That opens some doors :-P

That hole (the small one on the left side) is a remnant of a CH shotgun press (Model 923 maybe?). Since the basic design of the shotgun press was a Model 333, die platens with that
4th hole could be used on the shotgun press and the metallic cartridge press.
I might be able to find a picture of the that CH shotgun press to show you how that hole was used...unless someone else beats me to the punch!

It was a CH 907 ShellMaster. I'm having a hard time locating a picture, but i have one of the instruction manual
34304
If you look at the press on the left side of the picture, you'll see a bar that stands upright. That bar is held in place by the small holes on the upper and lower platen. Those are your mystery holes!
